1 1/2 cupconfectioner's suger
1egg
1 tspvanilla
2 1/2 cupall-purpose flour
1 tspbaking soda
1 tspcream of tartar
1 dashgranulated suger

Mix thoroughly butter, confectioner's suger, egg, and vanilla.

Blend in flour, baking soda, and cover.

Chill for 2-3 hours

Heat oven 375°

Divide dough in half.

Roll each half 3/16 inch thick on a lightly floured cutting board

Cut into desired shapes; sprinkle with granulated suger

Place on a lightly greased baking sheet

Bake 7-8 minutes or until brown on edges
