  1. 1 1/2 cupwhole wheat flour
  2. 1/2 cupoats
  3. 1/2 cupbrown sugar
  4. 1 1/2 tspbaking powder
  5. 1/2 tspbaking soda
  6. 1/2 tspcinnamon
  7. 1/2 tspnutmeg
  8. 2 tspgrated orange rind
  9. 3/4 cupmilk
  10. 1egg
  11. 1/3 cupapplesauce
  12. 1 1/2 cupdried cranberries
  13. 3/4 cupchopped walnuts

  1. 1

    preheat oven to 375. lightly grease 12 muffin tins

  2. 2

    combine flour and next 7 ingredients in a lg. bowl. combine milk, egg, and applesauce in a separate bowl. add milk mixture to flour mixture and stir well

  3. 3

    stir in cranberries and walnuts. Fill muffin cups about 2/3 full. Sprinkle tops with additional sugar. bake 25 min
