Ingredients

  1. 1 cupsugar
  2. 1/4 cupshortening
  3. 2eggs
  4. 2 cupflour
  5. 1 tspbaking soda
  6. 1 tspbaking powder
  7. 1/2 tspsalt
  8. 1 1/2 cupmashed ripe bananas (4 medium)
  9. 1 cupchopped walnuts (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. 2

    In large bowl mix all ingredients well.

  3. 3

    Place batter (about 3/4 full) in greased loaf pans and bake for 1 hour at 350°F.

  4. 4

    Makes two large or three small loaves.
