Ingredients

  • 2 cupsall-purpose flour (about 250 grams)
  • 2 cupsfine semolina (about 320 grams)
  • 2 cupssugar (about 400 grams)
  • 1 cupvegetable oil (about 240 ml)
  • 1 1/2 cupswater (about 360 ml)
  • 4 tablespoonspowdered milk (about 30 grams)
  • 2 teaspoonsbaking powder (about 8 grams)
  • 1 tablespoonturmeric
  • 1 teaspoonvanilla extract

Steps

    Mix all the dry ingredients together.

  2. 2

    Add the oil and rub it in until well absorbed.

  3. 3

    Heat the sugar and water in a saucepan until just warm.

  4. 4

    Add the sugar-water mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well.

  5. 5

    Let the batter rest for a little while.

  6. 6

    Pour the batter into a baking pan greased with tahini.

  7. 7

    Bake at 350°F (180°C) for about 30 minutes, then broil the top until golden brown.
