Crispy Squid / Fried Squid (super simple)

Received a surprise delivery of a lot of squid, over 7 kg! Even after sharing, there's still plenty left. I thought, why not make it crispy? Remember not to cook it too long to keep it tender.

Received a surprise delivery of a lot of squid, over 7 kg! Even after sharing, there's still plenty left. I thought, why not make it crispy? Remember not to cook it too long to keep it tender.
Steps
- 1
Clean the squid thoroughly, remove ink and skin, cut into pieces, and prepare the ingredients.
- 2
Coat the squid with 1/2 packet of seasoning mix and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
- 3
Mix the flour and cornstarch, sift, then divide into two portions: 2 2/3 cups (300 grams) and 3/4 cup (100 grams).
- 4
Mix the 2 2/3 cups portion with one packet of seasoning mix, stir well. (dry batter)
- 5
Mix the 3/4 cup portion with water and egg, stir until combined. (wet batter)
- 6
Dip the squid into the wet batter first, then into the dry batter.
- 7
- 8
Fry in hot oil over low heat. Ensure the squid is submerged.
- 9
Once golden brown, remove and drain. Avoid frying too long as squid tends to become tough if overcooked.
