Ingredients

  1. 15-20large patra leaves (colocasia leaves)
  2. 1/2 cuptamarind extract
  3. 2 cupbesan
  4. 3 tspred chilli powder
  5. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  6. 1 tspwhite sesame seeds
  7. 1 tspzeera & ajwain
  8. 3 tsp.powdered sugar
  9. 1 tbspoil
  10. to tastesalt
  11. water to make thick paste
  12. For seasoning: 1 tbsp. oil
  13. 1/2 tsp.each cumin & mustard seeds
  14. 3-4curry leaves
  15. 1 tsp.sesame seeds
  16. 1tsbp. coriander leaves finely chopped
  17. 1 tbsp.coconut grated fine

Steps

  1. 1

    Clean, wash and wipe leaves. Cut thick veins with a pair of scissors. Mix all ingredients (except seasoning) The mixture should be a thick paste. Place a leaf backside up on a flat work surface. Take a little paste and apply thinly all over leafsurface. Place another leaf over it. Repeat.

    Make the roll tight and seal sides with some paste.

    Place all the rolls in a steamer

    Steam for 15-20 minutes

    When done slice it as shown in pic

    Deep fry the slices in hot oil until crisp

    For tadka: Heat oil in a small pan.Add seeds & allow to splutter. Add curry leaves, sesame seeds, coriander, and coconut. mix well pour the seasoning on the prepared deep fried slices &serve hot with dips of ur choice.
