Heat oil in a cooker

Add jeera, asafetida, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, garlic and ginger

Add chopped onion to it and fry it for two to three mins

Add chopped Bottleguard and let it cook for close to 5 minutes

If the Bottleguard is slightly cooked add chopped tomatoes and all dry masalas to it with salt and let it cook for some time

Now add cooked Dal with tamarind water to it and add one and a half glass of water
- 7
Now close the lid and wait for three whistles
- 8
Your Bottleguard Dal is now ready to eat just check for salt and garnish it with coriander leaves
