Boil the meat... Set aside the soup to use later...

Add oil and chopped onions and garlic paste...

Stir till the onions become translucent

Add in all the spices and make sure the meat is all coated... Add another of the the meat soup to prevent spices from burning

Add the potatoes... I cut the potatoes into halves and stir

Add in the rice ensuring it's coated by the spices,add some soy sauce and stir... (helps in browning the rice)

Add the tomato paste and the remaining meat soup and stir

Add in the required amount of water, stir and cover on medium heat... And let the rice cook...

After the water dries, leave the pilau to cook for another 10min after turning off the fire under steam..

For the kachumbari

Slice all vegetables thinly in circles except the hoho into thin slices...

For the onions soak in salty water for afew minutes to remove the bitter taste of onions

Mix in a bowl and toss

Drizzle in some lemon juice and mix

Add the chopped dhania

Refrigerate for few minutes before serving
