Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupSoaked Samak rice
  2. 3-4 tbspGhee
  3. 2-3 tbspRoasted and crushed peanuts
  4. 8-10Curry leaves
  5. 2chopped Green chillies
  6. 8-10Cashewnuts
  7. 20-25Raisins
  8. 2chopped Potatoes
  9. 1/2 tspBlack pepper powder
  10. 1 tspSendha salt
  11. 2 cupsWater
  12. 1/2 cupCurd
  13. 2 tbspChopped coriander leaves
  14. 2 tbspPomegranate seeds

Steps

  1. 1

    In a thick bottomed pan heat ghee add peanuts curry leaves green chillies cashew nuts and raisins stir and saute until cashew becomes light brown in colour.

    Then add potatoes and saute well.

    Add samak rice and saute for a minute.

    Add water and stir again.

    Add black pepper and sendha salt and mix well.

    Close with lid and let it cook for 3-4minutes.

    Add beaten curd and mix well.

    Again close the lid and cook for 5-7miniutes.

  9. 9

    When water evaporates then switch off the flame.

  10. 10

    Serve hot Samak Rice Khichdi with green coriander leaves, pomegranate seeds cashewnuts and raisins with masala curd.
