This is my dad's recipe and it always turns out delicious! My daughter loves it, and as a bonus, we make some fritters with the leftover batter!

Ingredients

  1. 1.1 lbsfish fillets (about 500 grams). I used whiting for this recipe
  2. Garlic, parsley, salt, and any seasonings you like
  3. 1egg
  4. 1/2 cupclub soda (about 120 ml)
  5. 1 cupall-purpose flour (about 130 grams)
  6. 2 teaspoonsbaking powder
  7. 1 tablespoonvinegar (to help prevent the fish from absorbing too much oil when frying)

Steps

  1. 1

In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, seasonings, egg, and vinegar. Gradually add the club soda while mixing. Stir until you have a smooth batter that's not too thick or too thin.

  2. 2

Let the batter rest for a few minutes.

  3. 3

Meanwhile, clean the fish fillets. I like to cut them in half so they're smaller and easier to cook.

  4. 4

Fry the fish in plenty of hot oil. Serve with your favorite sides. Enjoy!

  5. 5

With the leftover batter, make some small fritters. My dad always made these, and they were my childhood favorite!
