Ingredients

  1. 1 cupchopped carrots
  2. 1 cupchopped beans
  3. 1 cupcabbage (optional)
  4. 1large capsicum cut into cubes
  5. 2medium sized onion cut into cubes
  6. 1 tablespoonsoya sauce
  7. 2 tablespoontomato ketchup
  8. 2 teaspoonchilli sauce
  9. 2 teaspoonblack pepper powder
  10. 2 teaspoonginger paste
  11. 2 teaspoongarlic paste
  12. 1 tablespoonbesan/ gram flour
  13. 1 tablespooncornflour
  14. to tasteSalt
  15. to tasteSugar
  16. as neededVegetable oil
  17. 1dry red chilli

Cooking Instructions

    Boil the beans, cabbage and carrots in a pressure cooker.

    Mash the veggies, along with 1 teaspoon of ginger paste, 1 teaspoon of garlic paste, 1 teaspoon of black pepper powder and little amount of salt. Add the besan and cornflour.

    Mix them altogether. You may add some more cornflour if required. Don't add too much of salt at this stage, as the gravy will also consist of some salt.

    Heat some oil in a wok, and make some balls from the vegetable mix that has been made in the previous steps.

    Deep fry each of the balls. At first keep them in a low flame so that it gets cooked from inside.

    Afterwards increase the flame and fry till golden brown.

    Keep them aside.

    In the same wok, heat more oil if required.

    Add the dry red chilli. Wait till the aroma comes out.

    Add the onions. Saute till it becomes translucent.

    Add the capsicum and some salt. Note that the sauce will also consist of some salt. Therefore don't add too much of salt.

    Saute them well and cover it with a lid for sometime. Repeat the process till the capsicum is cooked well.

    Add the remaining ginger and garlic paste and fry them well.

    Add the soya sauce, tomato ketchup, and chilli sauce. Saute it well.

    Add some water. Bring it to boil.

    Check the salt and sugar in the gravy and add some if required.

    Take 1 teaspoon of cornflour and mix it with 1 tablespoon of water. Add it in the gravy. This will make a thick consistency in the gravy.

    Add the fried balls and mix them well.

    Add the rest of the black pepper powder and mix it well.

    After you get the desired consistency in the gravy, switch of the flame and serve hot.
