Wholewheat Honey buns #Localfoodcontest_Nairobi_North

As i write this recipe, i think of people who have medical conditions that require them to consume less sugar and more fibre or people who just want to eat healthy and wholemeal foods are quite healthy. In my recipe i have substituted sugar with honey, i didn't mix the wholemeal flour with white flour. This bun is quite tasty and healthy too.

Mix all the ingredients together except warm water

Make a well and add water little by little as you knead.

Transfer to a flat surface, knead and punch it down until you get a soft and elastic constitency.

Cover with a damp cloth, cling film or plastic bag. Let it double in size.

When it doubles in size, deflate it by punching it down again.

Make balls and arrange them in an already lined baking tin

Cover and let it rise. The reason there's a white bun is because i was also baking white buns and i had a small white dough remaining so i decided to bake it in the same tin as the wholewheat buns😉

Let it rise in size.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and bake for 20-25mins or until golden brown.

Serve with soup or a cup of tea.
