Steps
- 1
In a small bowl mix the yeast with about 50ml warm water and let it sit for 5min
- 2
In a large bowl place your flour, sugar, vanilla essence and oil untill it's completely mixed evenly
- 3
Add in the yeast and mix... Gradually add the remaining warm water mixing till you achieve a semi solid mixture
- 4
Cover with a dry towel for 7-12min...giving it time to rise
- 5
In a large pan... Put oil and let it heat for about 6-8min or until you see bubbles...pour in mixture forming balls(my weren't exactly balls... Next time will be better)
- 6
Let it cook for three minutes on each side
- 7
For the syrup, in a large saucepan add the ingredients and keep stirring to prevent the sugar from sticking until it thickens
- 8
Add in your kaimati and mix ensuring all are coated evenly by the syrup
- 9
Serve while hot and enjoy as a snack or for breakfast with a warm glass of milk
