Mildly sweet snack for tea time.
Steps

Mix water, ghee and heat. Switch off stove. Dissolve sugar in it.

Add flour as needed and make dough. Dough should be firm. Cover and set it aside for 1 hr.

Heat oil in a deep heavy bottom wok. Roll the dough and cut into desired shapes.

Reduce heat to low and start frying, fry till golden. Remove on a paper towel.

Once shankarpale have completely cool down, store in airtight jar.
