I am used to baking white bread, i thought i should do wholemeal. I was worried that my sons won't eat much because they are not used to it but they loved it. From today henceforth i will be alternating between the two... White and wholemeal bread.

Steps

Mix all the ingredients together except water.

It will form crumbs.

Add water little by little as you mix

You should be getting an elastic but not sticky dough

Transfer on a flat surface and punch it down. Work on it for 5 mins.

Place it in a bowl.

Cover and let it proof until it doubles in size. Don't over rise it.

Prepare your loaf tin

When it doubles. Punch it again on a flat surface and knead.

Divide into two and shape as shown

Place in your tin and make shallow cuts.

Brush with egg wash

Preheat your oven. 200degrees

When it proofs. Bake for 20 to 25mins or until golden brown in colour.

When its nicely baked. Turn it over and tap, if it sounds hollow then its ready.

Let it cool completely, don't be in a hurry to slice it.

Slice it and enjoy.
