Ginger cookies #cookiecontest
Sometimes you think you can outwit your children. When I first made these for my children I did it in an effort to put them off cookies because of the spices. Shock on me as they loved them from the very first time to date. Another family favourite for Sunday tea.

Sometimes you think you can outwit your children. When I first made these for my children I did it in an effort to put them off cookies because of the spices. Shock on me as they loved them from the very first time to date. Another family favourite for Sunday tea.
Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Grease a cookie tray or oven tray with butter
- 2
Sift the flour, bicarbonate soda, spices and salt in a bowl and set aside
- 3
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
- 4
Add the egg and molasses and cream together
- 5
Add the flour mix and stir in with a wooden spoon until it comes together into a dough
- 6
Scoop some dough using a cookie scoop or tablespoon and form into balls. At this point you can roll them in some granulated sugar before placing them on the cookie tray. Make sure you dont put them close together because they will spread as they cook
- 7
Using the bottom of a measuring cup press each ball on the cookie tray to flatten slightly.
- 8
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. Let them cool on a wire rack
- 9
Enjoy with a cup of hot tea or beverage of your choice
