Chicken biryani
I have always wanted to try this recipe for a while and after some tweaks I come up with my own twist to make it easy
Steps
- 1
Cut and marinate the chicken in the spices for a while between 20 to 8hours.I marinated mine for 6hours
- 2
When ready to cook, boil the chicken adding salt, ginger and garlic and a little water for 10 minutes
- 3
Meanwhile in a different pan pan sear the potatoes sprinkling tumeric and some salt before it is almost golden brown
- 4
Remove the potatoes and add more oil in the same pan and fry the onions until brown and remove
- 5
Cook your rice either plain or you can add some tumeric powder when done to give it a yellow appearance
- 6
After chicken has marinated heat oil in a pan add tomatoes and tomatoes paste and all spices mixing to avoid drying
- 7
Add boiled chicken to the spices, yoghurt, potatoes and the fried onions squeeze some lemon if you have used flavoured yoghurt...if not you can leave it
- 8
Cook for 10 to 13 minutes on low to medium heat
- 9
Check on your rice, when ready remove it
- 10
Serve the rice on a plate with the biryani on top
- 11
Enjoy with a glass of soda.....yummmmmmmz
