Mixed Dal Vada

Mixed Dal Vada is one of the most popular homemade vada recipe, which is a perfect snack delicacy. This crispy delight can be served at various occasions/festives and goes well with almost everything. It is a nice treat for tastebuds, certainly the flavoursome and crunchy combination of spices, delicious dal and crispy outer coating. Here I used urad dal, chanadal and Moong dal to make this crispy vada.

This crispy delight can be served at various occasions/festives and goes well with almost everything. It is a nice treat for tastebuds, certainly the flavoursome and crunchy combination of spices, delicious dal and crispy outer coating. Here I used urad dal, chanadal and Moong dal to make this crispy vada.

Wash and soak all dals for about 1 to 2 hrs.

Drain out the extra water and transfer the soaked lentils to the blender jar.

Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender except onion.

Blend it to a coarse paste. Transfer this to a bowl.

Add chopped onion and rice flour.

Mix well to combine the ingredients together to form a mixture.

Heat oil in a kadai over medium flame.

Now, take a small portion of mixture and make round balls of the mix.

Drop it in the hot oil.

Deep fry until it is golden brown in colour and then, gently flip it and cook from the other side as well. Fry all the vadas.

Transfer the fried vadas to the tissue paper to drain the excess oil.

Serve them hot.
