Ingredients

  1. 1 cupAll Purpose Flour
  2. 1/4 th cup Vegetable Oil
  3. 1/2 tablespoonBaking powder
  4. 1/2 teaspoonCarom seeds or Ajwain
  5. 1/2 teaspoonChilli flakes
  6. to tasteSalt
  7. 1/2-3/4 th cup Water
  8. 1 tablespoonSesame seeds to sprinkle
  9. For brushingOil
  10. Stuffing for cones
  11. 1 cupboiled and cubed Sweet potato pieces
  12. 1/2 cupTomato chunks without pulp
  13. 1/2 cupCucumber chunks
  14. 1 cupboiled Chick peas
  15. 2 tablespoonsweet corn
  16. 1Onion cut into cubes
  17. 1-2green Chillies chopped
  18. 1 handfulchopped Coriander leaves
  19. 1 cupbeaten yoghurt seasoned with black salt and chat m masala
  20. As requiredSweet Tamarind chutney
  21. As requiredGreen chutney
  22. 1/2 teaspoonChilli powder to sprinkle on top of the cone
  23. 1/2 teaspoonChat masala to sprinkle on top of the cone
  24. Some sev to garnish (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Make a dough by combining flour, oil, baking powder, carom seeds, chilli flakes, salt and 1/2 cup or little more water.

    The dough shouldn't be very soft.

  3. 3

    Keep aside the dough for 10 to 15 minutes.

  4. 4

    Take some pieces of aluminium foil.

    Make cones that will be used as moulds.

    Now take small ball from the prepared dough and roll out the dough in a form of a big circle.

    Using a pizza cutter or knife cut out thin strips.

    Roll the strips to make round strips and join 2-3 strips to make a long strip.

    Starting from the top start wrapping the cones.

    If you run out of a strip before wrapping the whole cone- start using the other one.

    Till the end wrap the cone and seal it at the bottom.

    Once the dough is wrapped - press the dough firmly around the cones so that there is no gap.

    All wrapped cones ready for baking.

    Pre heat oven at 180 degree Centigrade for 10 minutes.

    Brush the cones with oil and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.

    Place them in a baking tray.

  17. 17

    Bake the cones for about 15 to 20 minutes until they are light golden brown in colour.

    Allow them to cool off and by applying little pressure separate the cones from the moulds.

    Cones are ready to be filled with the stuffing of your choice.

  20. 20

    Assemble all the ingredients for stuffing.

    Season sweet potato cubes and boiled chick peas with black salt and chat masala.

  22. 22

    Stuff the cones as per your choice. Add all the different types of chutneys,sprinkle chat masala and chilli powder. Enjoy with family and friends.
