Ingredients

30 minutes
4 servings
  1. For stuffing
  2. 2 cupsgrated coconut
  3. 1 cupsugar
  4. 1/2 tspcinnamon powder
  5. 50 gcrushed cashewnut & raisins
  6. For manda
  7. 250 gsuji
  8. 400 mlwater
  9. 100 gsugar
  10. To tastesalt
  11. 250 mlghee

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the pan and add 1 tsp ghee. Add coconut and sugar. Mix them well. Keep stiring and cooking till the mixture becomes dry. Turn off the flame and leave it to cool. Add cardamom powder, cashewnut & raisins and mix them well. Keep it aside.

    Heat water in a deep pan on low medium flame. Add sugar and salt. When water starts to boil slowly add suji and stir it continuously until you get a thick dough. Keep the dough in room temperature and knead it by adding one spoon ghee to make it more soft.

    Make 10-12 balls out of the dough by rolling them with the help of your palms. Flatten each ball and place the stuffing in it. Close the flattened balls after putting the stuffing and carefully give them a rounded shape.

    Heat ghee and deep fry the stuffed balls until golden brown. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

    Now ready is the suji manda to serve.
