Cucumber, Orange, and Chia Smoothie
It's delightful to have nutritious and fresh drinks for the day. You can even make popsicles with them if it's hot. Or simply fill your ice molds, freeze them, and add them to your cold water.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Fill the blender with water up to 3/4 full and blend.
- 2
Blend well because it will not be strained.
- 3
I used the centers of cucumbers from other salads I had made and stored them in a bag in the freezer. This way, when I make the drink, it's always very cold.
- 4
Activate the chia seeds by soaking them in water for about 10 minutes. Do not use the soaking water.
- 5
Pour the smoothie into a pitcher, and if you want or if it's too thick, add water. I like it thick; it tastes delicious.

Cucumber Apple Mint Smoothie Cucumber Apple Mint Smoothie
I was inspired to make this refreshing drink after having a glass of mint lemonade at a local Middle Eastern restaurant. But I didn't have any lemons at home that day , just limes, apples, mint, and cucumber. So I experimented and came up with this sweet and tangy drink. The applesauce and lime (minus its peel) add to the smoothness of this beverage. Christina T -

Strawberry Shortcake smoothie Strawberry Shortcake smoothie
I've tried quite hard to sneak all kinds of nutrient-rich ingredients into my kids' smoothies - sometimes they buy it, other times not. This is a failsafe recipe that always goes down a treat.A few weeks back, I finally took the plunge and ordered a NutriBullet. After seeing so many tempting instagram snaps and Pinterest recipes, I couldn't resist. About the same time, the Almond Board of California got in touch with me to ask if I'd like to take their 21-day Snack Happy Challenge (http://www.almonds.co.uk/snack-happy-challenge). The stars had aligned perfectly.I've been snacking on a handful of almonds every day this month, and including them in my favourite smoothie recipes. Why almonds?• A handful of almonds (30g) provide approximately 65% of your daily requirement of vitamin E.• Almonds are a high source of fibre, are packed with healthy, unsaturated fats and are a natural source of protein.• Almonds are rich in calcium, which is needed for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.• Almonds are a high source of magnesium, which contributes to reducing tiredness and fatigue.• Almonds provide linoleic acid, which contributes to maintaining normal cholesterol levels.• Just a handful of these noble nuts is all you need to up your daily nutrient intake. Pop them in your handbag to snack on-the-go in your moments of need. Lottie Storey -
