Cut the mozzarella and cherry tomatoes into small pieces in a bowl and add a pinch of salt. Add the pesto (I make mine at home with basil, olive oil, Grana Padano, almonds, and salt) and let it rest.

Cook the pasta, drain it well, and add it to the bowl. Mix everything together, then serve on plates topped with cheese shavings and a couple of basil leaves.

Note: This recipe can also be served cold as a pasta salad.
