  1. 1 cupWheat Flour
  2. 3 tablespoons + 1/4 cupGhee
  3. 1/2 teaspoonSalt
  4. 1 teaspoonCumin seeds
  5. 1 teaspoonBlack Pepper roughly crushed
  6. as neededCooking Oil for deep frying
  7. as neededWater required to knead

    Take 1 cup wheat flour, ghee,1/2 teaspoon salt,1 teaspoon roasted cumin, 1 teaspoon roughly crushed black pepper.

    Let’s prepare the dough. Take wheat flour in a bowl. Add salt to it.

    Add cumin seeds.

    Add pepper.

    Add 2 tablespoons ghee.

    Mix completely until the flour is moist.

    You could hold shapes as shown with this moist dough.Could break the shaped ones easily as well. That is the preferred consistency.

    Add required water gradually, start kneading into a smooth dough.Dough shouldn’t be sticky/ tight.

    Cover and rest the dough for 15 minutes.

    Then divide the dough into 2 equal large balls.

    Roll each ball into a medium thickness roti, brush ghee throughout.

    Start rolling from one side to another as shown.

    The cylindrical roll is ready. Cut into small equal sized rolls.

    Each small rolls will have layers. Press them gently.

    Use a rolling pin to roll them into small discs.

    Discs are ready to get fried. Likewise repeat steps to prepare all the discs (puris).

    Use a fork to prick all over the discs before frying.

    Heat oil /ghee in a wok for deep frying. I used oil +1/4 cup ghee. Drop the puris one by one into the hot oil. Oil bubbles immediately. Flip and fry both sides until golden and crunchy.

    Take out the fried puris by draining excess oil. Cool the puris.

    Gujarati Farsi crunchy Savoury Puris are ready. Store the cooled puris in an airtight container. Enjoy.
