This is very tasty,yummy but healthy recipe.This is one of my comfort foods.
Steps

Soak and wash rice and two types of lentils, drain it properly.

Marinate fish for 5-10 minutes with little salt, turmeric and red chilli powder,heat oil in a pan till it reaches it's smoke point,and slightly fry both sides of the fish, keep it aside.

In same oil,add bay leaf, whole dry red chilli, cinnamon, green cardamom,let it crackle, then add sliced onion,fry it till translucent.

Add garlic, ginger paste, sugar,red chilli powder, turmeric,cook it till oil separate.

Add rice, lentils,salt and clarified butter/ ghee, cook it for couple of minutes.

Now add boiling water, keep it on high flame for 2 minutes, cover with lid and keep in low flame for 8-9 minutes or till water evaporates a bit.

Put off the flame,open the cover and scoop out half khichdi,then arrange the fish pieces as shown below.

Now place the rest of the khichdi over the arranged fish,add splits green chillies, again cook it in low flame for 5-7 minutes after air-sealing the pan.

Serve hot and enjoy.
