Ingredients

  • 500 gramsflour
  • 1/2cupoil
  • 1 tbspred chilli powder
  • 1 tsp asafoetida
  • to tasteSalt
  • SomeOil to fry
  • As RequiredWater

Steps

  1. 1

    Seive the gram flour and red chilli powder in a large bowl now add water and make a thick sticky paste consistently

    Soak the asefoetida in a water for few minutes now add in it and mix well now add salt and oil in it mix it well

    Take a sev machine. Fit mould with thin nest hole and grease it's entire inner surface with oil now fit the thin nest hole in it like this

    Fil it with prepared paste and close it's lid tightly like this

    Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadhai over medium heat for deep frying hole machine over pan turn handle of machine and press out thin strands in to hot oil as strands are starting to fall in to the oil slowly move machine in a circular motion

  6. 6

    Deep fry both sides for around 2 minutes on a medium flame unit it becomes crisp. Drain and take it out using perforated spoon and transfer to the plate

  7. 7

    Repeat some process for remaining paste now let it cool down. Store in a airtight container and use it for up to 2 weeks
