Ingredients

25 minutes
6 person
  • 1/2 CupMilk(Lukewarm)
  • 1 TspSugar/honey
  • 2 TspDry Active Yeast
  • 3 1/3Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 1/2 TspBaking Powder
  • 1 1/2 TspSalt
  • 3/4 CupYogurt
  • 1/2 CupNutella
  • 1 tbspbutter/oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Grease a 9"inch loaf pan with butter/oil and keep aside.

  2. 2

    In a small bowl stir together the lukewarm milk,sugar and yeast. Let stand for 15 minutes until yeast is foamy.

  3. 3

    In another big bowl add whole wheat flour,baking powder,salt and mix well.

  4. 4

    Once the yeast has activated add the yeast mixture and yogurt to the dry ingredients. Mix everything together until it forms a loose sticky dough.

    Transfer the dough to clean kitchen counter and knead dough for atleast 10 minutes or until soft and smooth dough is formed.

    If dough is too soft and sticky add just a little bit of flour.(1-2 tbsp)

  7. 7

    Place the dough in a greased bowl,cover with cling wrap and place in a warm place to proof for 1 hr atleast or until dough is double in size.

    Once dough is proofed,sprinkle little flour on your kitchen counter and transfer the dough to floored surface.

  9. 9

    Punch the dough and knead agian for few minutes.

    Roll dough using a rolling pin into rectangular shape.

  11. 11

    Using a spatula or butter knife spread the nutella across the rectangle in an even thin layer, about 1"inch away from the edge of the dough.

    Using fingertips gently roll the dough into a tight log.

    Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the log into half,horizontally.

  14. 14

    Now we are left with 2 parts of dough.

  15. 15

    Pinch the top of both the dough together and start twisting them around each other to the bottom.

  16. 16

    Again pinch the bottom and top of the twisted log together to secure the loaf.

  17. 17

    Carefully lift the braided loaf into the center of the greased loaf pan.

  18. 18

    Cover with plastic wrap and allow to proof for a second time for 45 Minutes.

  19. 19

    Pre-heat oven to 190*C and bake for 20 To 25 minutes or the crust is slightly browned.

    Transfer the bread to cooling rack and allow to cool down for 10 -15 minutes

  21. 21

    Once it's cooled down sliced and serve with tea,coffee or glass of milk.
