Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsfermented white(safed) dholka batter
  2. 1 cupboiled and grated beetroot
  3. 1 tbspgreen chillies-ginger paste
  4. 1 pinchhing
  5. to tasteSalt
  6. 1 tspoil(to mix in batter)
  7. 1/2 tspsoda bi carb
  8. 1 tspoil for greasing
  9. For tempering:
  10. 1 tbspoil
  11. 1 tspmustard- cummin seeds
  12. 1 tspwhite sesame seeds
  13. Few curry leaves
  14. HandfulChopped fresh coriander leaves to garnish
  15. To serve:
  16. As requiredGreen coriander chutney
  17. As requiredTomato ketchup

Cooking Instructions

    Grind boiled and grated beetroot in mixer to make puree. Add & mix salt, green chillies ginger paste to white dhokla batter. Add & mix beetroot puree.

    Grease 7" round thali. Add & mix gently soda bi carb and oil in prepared beetroot dhokla batter. Pour in grease thali. Keep in dholka steam cooker. Cover and steam for 20-25 mins till done.

    Cool for 5 mins. Cut into pieces. In small tadka pan add and heat oil. Do tempering of mustard and cumin seeds as they splutter add curry leaves and white sesame seeds. Pour this tempering on prepared beetroot dhokla. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

    Serve/ Relish Hot Nutritious Beetroot Dhokla with green coriander chutney and tomato sauce.
