Ingredients

  • 6-7Peppers (Long Chillies)
  • 1 cupChickpea Flour/Besan
  • 2 tbspRice Flour/Corn Flour
  • 1/4 tspTurmeric Powder
  • 1 tspChilli Powder
  • 1/2 tspCumin Powder
  • PinchAsafoetida
  • as requiredSalt
  • small pinchBaking Soda
  • 1/2 tspPepper Powder (Optional)
  • 1/2 tspKitchen King Masala (Optional)
  • as requiredOil for Deep Frying

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash the peppers (chillies) nicely and wipe them with a kitchen towel. Cut into halves. Make a sharp slit on the peppers using a knife. Take out all the inner seeds slowly if you want to reduce the heat.

    In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients for the batter. Add water little by little and make a thick batter (thick but flowing).

  3. 3

    In a pan, heat enough oil to deep fry.

  4. 4

    Dip the chillies in the prepared batter. Coat the peppers with the batter nicely and drop them into the hot oil one by one.

  5. 5

    Fry until nice golden and drain into paper towels.

  6. 6

    Serve hot with tea and enjoy.
