Sweet Potato Candil Porridge / Kolak Biji Salak

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Peel the sweet potatoes and steam until cooked, then mash with a spoon.
- 2
Mix the sweet potatoes, tapioca flour, and salt, knead until it forms a dough that is easy to shape. If it's too hard, add a little water.
- 3
Shape the dough into marble-sized balls, continue until all the dough is used.
- 4
Boil all the brown sugar syrup ingredients (except the tapioca flour). Once it boils and the sugar dissolves, add the sweet potato balls and cook until they float.
- 5
Dissolve the tapioca flour in a little water, then add to the pot and stir well. Cook until the syrup boils and thickens, then turn off the heat.
- 6
Combine all the coconut milk sauce ingredients, then boil until it comes to a boil.
- 7
Place the candil porridge in a bowl, then pour the coconut milk sauce over it. Sweet Potato Candil Porridge / Kolak Biji Salak is ready to serve.

In my tradition, kolak is a famous sweet appetizer to break the fasting (iftar) during Ramadhan. Eating the kolak and veg fritters just as an introduction for our tummy, so our gut isn't getting a shock after being empty for a day before the heavy main menu like meat, rice, etc.Happy Ramadhan to everyone who celebrates it.#kolak #pisang #labu #manis #ramadhan #menu #buka #puasa #iftar #sweet #soup #hometown #food #missing my hometown #semarang #cookpad #cookpadcommunity #cookpadcommunity_USA #cookpadcommunity_Indonesia ZahraS_23 -

Sweet Gachas (Andalusian Porridge) Sweet Gachas (Andalusian Porridge)
Sweet gachas is a traditional dessert from Andalusia, usually enjoyed during All Saints' Day, but I love it all year round. The classic recipe uses wheat flour, but I'm making it the way my grandmother did, with half wheat flour and half cornstarch (cornflour), which makes it incredibly smooth and creamy. And with that touch of anise... so delicious! Every time I eat it, I remember when she used to make it for us. Here’s how to make it—it's easy and so tasty! To watch the video recipe, click here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ln_6BHF2A00 Belén "En Mi Salsa Cocina"Translated from Cookpad Spain
