Nam Yue or Fermented Red Beancurd is used to marinate the pork meat for frying. Nam Yue is very salty in it's own, but mixed with some sweetness is very delicious in cooking other dishes such as vegetarian dish, grilled chicken wings and even grilled cod fish.

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. Pork belly or spare ribs
  2. Marinate Ingredients
  3. 2 cubesnam yue
  4. 2 tspnam yue sauce
  5. 2 tbspShaoxing wine
  6. 1 tspsugar
  7. 1 tspfive spice powder
  8. 1 tbspoyster sauce
  9. 1 tbspginger juice
  10. 1 tbspgarlic juice
  11. 1 tbspshallot juice
  12. Frying Ingredients
  13. Plain flour
  14. Corn flour
  15. Rice flour (optional)
  16. 1/2 tspbaking powder
  17. 2beaten eggs

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cut pork belly or pork ribs into 1 inch or smaller pieces.

  2. 2

    Marinate pork with marinate ingredients for 1 hour.

  3. 3

    Coat a thin layer of flour mixtures and coat a thin layer of eggs and coat another thin layer of flour.

    Deep fry the flour coated pork till golden brown and serve.
