Ingredients

  1. 1 bagshredded green cabbage
  2. 3-4russet potatoes, peeled, sliced into 1/2" pieces
  3. 1smoked turkey sausage, sliced into 1/2" pieces
  4. 1large shallot, diced
  5. 1-2 tbspcooking fat (I used bacon fat, olive oil is an option) as needed
  6. as per tastesalt and pepper (be generous)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    In a large skillet, add 1/2 tbsp of cooking fat and cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Transfer the sausage to a plate and keep the fat in the pan.

    Add 1/2-1 tbsp of additional fat/oil to the pan. Add the shallots.

  3. 3

    Add in the potatoes, cabbage, salt, and pepper and gently toss to coat. Cook, covered, until the potatoes are tender, about 10 minutes. Remove from pan and stir in the sausage. Serve.
