Orange Chicken (meal prep friendly)
Found a recipe on the internet.
Steps
- 1
Cut the chicken breast into cubes, then season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, cornflour, and baking powder. Mix it evenly and leave it for 15 minutes (or more).
Prepare the garlic cloves, ginger, and chili flakes. Put them in one container/cup/bowl etc.
(Optional) Prepare the orange juice, low sodium soy sauce, honey, and orange zest. Put them in a separate container.
- 2
Get a pan on high heat, use your preferred cooking oil (I'm using olive oil). Cook the chicken until golden and crispy. Depending on the pan that you use, it could take between 2-4 mins.
Once cooked, set aside. - 3
In the same pan, lower the heat to low, and add garlic cloves, ginger, and chili flakes for 1 min or less (avoid burnt!) then add orange juice, soy sauce, honey, and orange zest.
- 4
Mix well, bring to a boil and then reduce the sauce for 3-4 mins before adding 5g of cornflour mixed with 40-50ml water. Let the sauce thicken and then add the chicken back. Mix well.
- 5
Enjoy! Feel free to add sesame seeds and green onion when you're about to eat!
