Ingredients

  1. 1 cuptoor dal
  2. 2 tbspghee
  3. 1 pinchhing
  4. 1/2 tspcumin
  5. 1 tspginger garlic paste
  6. 1medium Onion
  7. 1large tomatoe
  8. 1/4 tspTurmeric
  9. 1/2 tspcoriander powder
  10. 1/2 tspRed chilli powder
  11. As per tastesalt
  12. 2 tbspCoriander leaves

Cooking Instructions

    Rinse toor dal and pressure cook for 3 whistles or until dal is cooked well.

    In a large wok heat 2 tbsp ghee over medium flame.

  3. 3

    Add cumin let splutter, add in hing a pinch, ginger garlic paste and saute.

    Now add in finely chopped onion and saute until it turns golden brown.

    Add in turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt.

  6. 6

    Now add in tomato puree and saute until it starts leaving sides.

  7. 7

    Lastly add in cooked dal, stir well and add water to adjust the consistency.

    Cook for 5 minutes or until it combined well.

    Now add chopped coriander and mix well.

  10. 10

    Serve dal tadka with rice and enjoy.
