Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 200 gramssemolina (about 1 1/3 cups)
  2. Salt, to taste
  3. 1 teaspoonoil
  4. as neededHot water,
  5. For the filling:
  6. 1/2 cupgrated paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
  7. 1/4 headcabbage, grated
  8. 1carrot, grated
  9. 1 teaspoonginger-garlic paste
  10. 2green chilies
  11. Salt, to taste
  12. 1/2 teaspoonblack pepper powder
  13. 1 teaspoonsoy sauce
  14. 1/2 teaspoonvinegar
  15. 1 tablespoonoil
  16. 1small onion, finely chopped

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix semolina, salt, oil, and hot water to make a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a pan. Sauté ginger-garlic paste until golden. Add onion and cook until slightly soft. Add paneer and the remaining vegetables, and cook lightly.

  3. 3

    Add salt and black pepper powder, and mix well. Then add soy sauce and vinegar, and mix thoroughly. Turn off the heat.

  4. 4

    Knead the semolina dough again. Divide into small balls. Roll each ball thin, fill with the prepared filling, and shape into momos.

  5. 5

    Prepare a steamer. Steam all the momos for 15-20 minutes. Serve hot with chutney.
