Ingredients

  • 250 gms(Gilki)Sponge Gourd -
  • 2 tbspRoasted Gram Flour Besan
  • 1 TspRed Chilli Powder -
  • 1 TspTurmeric Powder -
  • 1 TspDry Mango Powder Amchur -
  • 2 tbspCoriander chopped
  • As requiredWater
  • 1 TbspMustard Oil

Steps

  1. 1

    In a mixing bowl add roasted besan, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, dry mango powder, coriander powder, salt to taste and finely chopped coriander. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Add little water to make a fine paste.

  3. 3

    Peel and cut gilki into 2-3 inches.

  4. 4

    Slit gilki vertically and fill the stuffing.

  5. 5

    Heat oil till it reaches smoking point.

  6. 6

    Switch off the flame and let it cool a bit.
    Switch on the flame. Place stuffed gilki and cook for a min.

  7. 7

    Flip and let it cook. Cover and cook for 2-3 mins.

  8. 8

    Uncover and cook on a low flame till tender.

  9. 9

    Do not stir a lot, just flip as and when required.

  10. 10

    Make sure not to overcook the gilki.

  11. 11

    Serve hot with roti.
