Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsmoth sprouts
  2. 1 cupmoong sprouts
  3. 1potato cut into pieces
  4. 1 teaspoonsalt
  5. For Spice mix -
  6. 1 tablespoondry coriander
  7. 1 teaspooncumin
  8. 1 teaspoonsesame seeds
  9. 1/2 teaspoonblack pepper
  10. 1/2 teaspoonfennel seeds
  11. 4cloves
  12. 1 inchcinnamon
  13. 1star anise
  14. 2cardamom
  15. 3dry red chillies
  16. 2 tbspdesiccated coconut
  17. For misal -
  18. 4 tbspoil
  19. 1/2 teaspoonmustard
  20. 1/4 teaspoonhing/ asafoetida
  21. 8-10curry leaves
  22. 1onion
  23. 2 teaspoongarlic paste
  24. 2 teaspoonginger paste
  25. 1 teaspoongreen chilli paste
  26. 1/2 teaspoonturmeric
  27. 1 tablespoonred chilli powder
  28. 2 teaspoonscumin coriander powder
  29. 4 teaspoonsspice mix
  30. As per taste salt
  31. 1tomato
  32. 1 teaspoonlemon juice
  33. 4 tbspcoriander leaves
  34. 200 gramschivda
  35. 1/2 cupcurd (optional)

    Add sprouts and potato in a pressure cooker with one cup of water and salt and boil it until 2 whistles. Let it cool down itself.

    To make spice mix, take all the ingredients in a pan except from desiccated coconut and roast it on medium heat for 5 minutes. Now add dessicated coconut and mix it well and roast it for another 1 minute and turn off the heat. Let it cool down. Now grind it to a powder in a mixer.

    To make misal, heat oil in a pot and add mustard seeds. When it crackles, add hing, curry leaves and finely chopped onion. Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes until onion changes colour. Now add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste to it and cook for another 2 minutes. Now add turmeric, chilli powder, cumin coriander powder and prepared spice mix along with salt and mix everything well.

    Add chopped tomato to the onion and spice mix and mix it well and cook it until tomato is cooked nicely. Now add boiled sprouts to it and mix everything well. Add 4 cups of water and lemon juice. Let it cook on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes.

    To serve misal pav first of all in a bowl, add prepared misal then top it up with chivda, chopped onion, coriander and curd. You can skip curd if you want. Serve it with pav.
