Soak rice & dal in water for minimum 30 mints, then rinse it well,drain the water & keep aside.

Heat ghee in a pan, add jeera seeds, bay leaf, dry red chilli.When jeera splutters,add green chilli, grated ginger,chopped tomatoes.

Now add the potato,coconut pieces & fry for a mints.Then add the drained rice, dal & mix well.Add salt,turmeric powder.

Pour 4 cups water or as required.Pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistles.

Once the pressure subsides by itself drizzle little ghee on top.

Garnish it with coriander leaves & coconut pieces.Serve hot with papad, pineapple chutney or any other of your choice.
