Ingredients

  • 1 cupSoaked Chana dal (nearly 20 to 30 min)
  • 1 cupdesiccated coconut or fresh coconut
  • 1/2 cupfresh coriander
  • 1 podgarlic
  • 1 inchginger
  • 2green chilies
  • 1marble size tamarind
  • 1 tspmustard seeds
  • 1 pinchhing
  • 10-12curry leaves
  • 1 tspoil

    Add the soaked chana dal, desiccated coconut, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves, tamarind and salt in a mixer jar and grind to a thick coarse paste. Add a little water if required.

    In a small tadka pan, heat oil. When the oil's heated, add mustard seeds, hing and curry leaves. Pour the tempering on the chutney. The chutney is ready to be served with your idlis, dosa's or vada's.
