Here's my version of the coconut chutney. It can be easily prepared and can be enjoyed with idli, dosa or vada.

Add the soaked chana dal, desiccated coconut, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves, tamarind and salt in a mixer jar and grind to a thick coarse paste. Add a little water if required.

In a small tadka pan, heat oil. When the oil's heated, add mustard seeds, hing and curry leaves. Pour the tempering on the chutney. The chutney is ready to be served with your idlis, dosa's or vada's.
