Simple Tofu and Tuna Nuggets

My mother often made this for me.
It's healthier if you drain the oil from the canned tuna but it becomes richer if you leave it in, so I always leave it in. Adjust the flour according to the state of the batter. If it falls with a splat, it's just right. Adding chopped onions will give it a crisp texture and it'll taste great. Recipe by Uitaro

Steps
- 1
Spread a paper towel on a heat-resistant plate. Break the tofu into pieces with your hands and place on top of the plate. Heat in the microwave for 2-3 minutes to remove excess moisture. Place the tofu into a bowl (it will be hot so be careful!).
- 2
Add the canned tuna (you don't need to drain the oil), egg, plain flour, mayonnaise and soy sauce into the bowl with the tofu. Mix well.
- 3
Heat plenty of oil in a frying pan. Drop the batter into the frying pan using a spoon and fry. Once both sides have lightly browned, they're done!
- 4
The nuggets taste great just as is, but you could also add hijiki, chili peppers, or sauces. Arrange it however you prefer.
