Easy Snacks Mitarashi Potato Mochi

My kids were hounding me for snacks but all we had left were potatoes!! So I made potato mochi snacks. I tried making them similar to mitarashi dango (traditional Japanese sweets).
The sauce scorches easily, so watch the heat once you pour it in. Recipe by ayuly_s

Steps
- 1
Boil, drain and mash the potatoes. Mix in the katakuriko.
- 2
Roll into slightly flat ovals ( I made 16 bite-sized pieces).
- 3
Grease a frying pan with margarine and cook the potato bites. When the katakuriko has browned, flip over, cover with a lid and steam. Mix all of the ingredients marked with ★ together to make the sauce, pour over the bites and toss to finish.
