Steak Sauce with Shallots and Wine

This is like the steak sauce that someone made for me when I was working at a military base.

It goes with many different meat dishes, so make a lot and save it for later.

You can use spring onions and garlic in lieu of shallots. Adjust the amount to taste.

If you have some juice leftover after cooking the meat, add it after you take out the garlic.

If you simmer the sauce slowly, the taste will be deep and delicious. Recipe by Momora

Ingredients

6 servings
  • 200 gramsShallots (or 150 g spring onions and 50~80 g garlic)
  • 100 mlChicken soup
  • 100 mlRed wine
  • 4 tbspBalsamic vinegar
  • 1 cloveGarlic
  • 1sprig Rosemary
  • 3 tbspOlive oil
  • 10 gramsButter
  • 1 dashBlack pepper
  • 1what's available The juice from the meat after cooking it

Steps

  1. 1

    Put the olive oil and finely chopped shallots in a pot. Sauté over medium-high heat until browned.

  2. 2

    Add the smashed garlic, rosemary, and black pepper. Continue to saute for a few minutes, being careful not to let it burn. Add the Balsamic vinegar and wine and continue to cook for a few minutes.

  3. 3

    Add the soup and simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove the rosemary and garlic. Simmer for another 10 minutes, then season with the butter and salt.
