Ingredients

45 minutes
3-4 persons
  • 250 gchicken curry cut small
  • For marination
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 3/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tbspcoriander powder
  • as neededJuice of half lemon
  • 30 mloil for cooking chicken
  • For badami chicken gravy
  • Whole spices (cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, black peppercorns)
  • 1chopped onion
  • 1 tbspginger garlic paste
  • 1tomato (pureed)
  • 15almonds (soaked)
  • as per tasteSalt
  • 1/2 tspchicken masala
  • as required Kasuri methi for garnish
  • As requiredWater
  • 30 mloil

Steps

45 minutes
  1. 1

    In a mixing bowl, put chicken for marination. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder. Squeeze some lemon juice. Mix well and keep in refrigerator for an hour.
    Next place a pan, heat it with oil. Put the marinated chicken. Stir mix and cook without cover for 5 minutes at high flame. Next lower the heat, cover and cook. As it's soft, juicy and cooked, keep aside.

    Next take a kadhai, add oil. Add cardamoms, cinnamon stick, cloves, black peppercorns. Add chopped onion. Saute till brownish. Next add ginger garlic paste and cook it for sometime. Next add tomato puree and let the masala get cooked till it leaves oil.
    Add the cooked chicken into the masala. Mix well. Add little water. Keep the flame medium and cook for sometime.

    As it's cooking meanwhile take soaked almonds, add water and grind into a smooth paste. As chicken and masala combine well with each other, add some more water. Add the almonds paste. Mix. Add chicken masala. Mix all well.

    Let it cook without cover. As you reach the required consistency switch the flame off, put some crushed Kasuri methi.
