Disneyland Monte Christo Sandwich 🥪

This one’s basically a 3 layered Sandwich speciality- That has in it the cheese slices, originally the French Gouda Cheese (Since its place of birth is France 🇫🇷), the pre-cooked ham layer & the other layer has the pre-cooked-Turkey Slices and has a generous amount of the mayonnaise (with eggs), sprinkled with some crystal sugar on its top to finish it off
The history behind this sandwich actually varies & having it all what I’ve emulated is that according to certain food historians goes somewhat like this:
Though its origin is very much the French lands & hence the name has been showered unto this (Google Search the history of how & why it’s been named so)-
However, all across the globe it has been evolved quite differently as suited to their own preferences & tastes- still keeping in mind the 3 layered sandwich which is actually the main basics of it withholding many a different variations to it-
As I’ve taken up its American 🇺🇸 Versions (even in America too, it differs from one region to the other)-
I’m basically fond of its Disneyland Version & hence there it goes

Followed by the 2 Chicken Salami/Ham (if you’re using it) on it- And, place the shredded mozzarella cheese or whichever you’re using-Then place one part of it, on the top of the other one & press it tightly by using something heavy & leave it thus for sometime (About 4-5 mins time) before frying them up

  3. 3

In a separate bowl: Break in the eggs, add in some salt and pepper, the dried herbs (optional though), the measured milk & whisk it well altogether to become kinda frothy- Don’t allow the froth to settle down much & need to start working on it- Dip the entire Sandwich into this egg mixture- Coat it all along nicely with its 4 thick edges as well

  4. 4

Heat up a frying pan over the medium flame: Add in the butter to it & let it melt- Time to now place onto it, the egg soaked sandwich & keeping the flame in between medium-low, fry it nicely on its both sides along with its 4 thick edges equally nice- (it’d take about 3-4 mins time) per sides & another a minute for each of its edges too

A hardcore Bong- that has a tremendous wanderlust in her blood as well as that much passion for cooking new ideas and recipes & also, camouflaging certain recipes across the globe-Of course, all that maintains its heritage and cultures in its looks and taste both yet caters to the day’s call/requirement to be health conscious but a great foodie that’s innate in her genes and tries to satiate the crowd- Be ANY, with all that 😊💁🏻‍♀️👍🏻
