Cured Ham Sushi Balls

I really love cured ham. I used to go to a conveyer belt sushi joint that served cured ham sushi (that place is gone now...) After realizing that cured ham sushi is tasty, I started making them at home. This time, I made them into a cute ball sushi.

When you squeeze the sushi rice into balls in Step 2, make sure not to make it too big! It should be just the right size to wrap 2 pieces of cured ham around. That size is also easy to eat. Recipe by YUZUMAMAN

Ingredients

4 servings
  • 1rice bowl's worth Sushi rice
  • 8 sliceCured ham
  • 1/4Onion
  • 1Lemon juice
  • 1Ponzu
  • 1Mayonnaise
  • 1to garnish Radish sprouts

Steps

  1. 1

    Slice the onion thinly, then soak in water. After you drain it well, combine with lemon juice and ponzu sauce.

    Using plastic wrap, squeeze a small amount of sushi rice into a ball (Just squeeze lightly)!

    Use 1 slice of cured ham to wrap around the ball of sushi rice. Use another to wrap the other side. (They look like flower petals.)

    Top them with onion and mayonnaise. Scatter on radish sprouts for decoration and serve.

    It's really delicious if you serve it with a little ponzu sauce.
