Hawaiian Octopus Poke

cookpad.japan
cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp

I wanted to make ahi poke to reminisce on my trip to Hawaii. But I couldn't get good tuna, so I decided to make octopus poke instead.

When adding the avocado to the bowl with the octopus, add the lemon juice as well. The lemon juice prevents the avocado from discoloring and adds flavor. Recipe by Mugitarou

Steps

  1. 1

Pit the avocado, peel and dice. Put the diced avocado into a bowl and mix with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to prevent discoloring.

  2. 2

Cut the 1/4 onion in half, and slice thinly along the grain. If you don't like the harshness, soak the sliced onion in water.
