My lazy adaptation of red cabbage with apple.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2red cabbage
  2. 2bay leaves
  3. 1large (700gr)pot apple sauce
  4. 2 tbmaple syrup
  5. 2veg stock cubes
  6. 1 clovegarlic chruched
  7. 2 tb(apple)vinegar
  8. 1large (spanish) onion
  9. 1 tbcocoa oil
  10. 100 mlwater
  11. Karwij seeds (optionel)

    Cut the cabbage into tin slices. Use a mandoline or do it by hand. Remove the stem and the outer leaves

    Cut the onion in to thin quater moons

  3. 3

    Put the oil in a cast Iron pot. Put in the onion and let cook for 5 min. Do not let it Brown.

    Put in the bay leaf, stockcubes, karwijseeds

  5. 5

    Put in the cabbage,water vinegar and syrup.

  6. 6

    Put in the apple sauce. And let cook for another 80min or until the cabbage is soft enough.

    Pick out the bay leaves. And season with salt and pepper. Serve

    It freezes well. But do not put it in a plastic container it will stain it. Use glas one or freezer bags
