Soak tamarind and red chili in 1tbsp water for at least one hour. Take two medium-sized cucumbers.
- 2
Grate the cucumber finely. Make a paste of tamarind and red chili.

In a nonstick pan, add oil. Switch on the burner. When the oil becomes hot, add cumin seed and allow it to flutter. Add coriander powder and sauté for a few seconds.
- 4
Add grated cucumber, salt, turmeric powder, and asafoetida into the oil.
- 5
Mix well and cover with lid. After 2mins, add tamarind chili paste and stir occasionally.
- 6
When the mixture becomes dry, switch off the burner. Add black salt to enhance the taste. Serve in a bowl.
