Murmura upma (puffed rice upma)

This is a zhatpat recipe..
Apt for your evening snacks..add in some protein in form of kala chana or any boiled chana or matar. This time I have used kala chana.
Adding chana, will not only enhance the taste but will also uplift the nutritional value.

Steps

Place a kadhai and heat it with oil.
Splutter mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
Add chana dal, urad dal, fresh green chillies and curry leaves. - 2
Next add chopped onion. Saute till little brownish.
Next add the boiled chana.
Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and curry powder. Saute in slow heat for some time till masala mix nicely with chana. - 3
Meanwhile in a strainer take puffed rice. Wash it under clean running water. It must not be soaked in water else it will turn very mushy so be careful.

Now put this soft puffed rice into the kadhai. Put salt. Give a nice gentle mix. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix again. Let it be on slow heat for some time.
Switch the flame off.
Squeeze lemon juice. Mix. - 5
It's ready!!
Serve with chai and enjoy!! - 6
