Beetroot Chakli

Chakli and Murukku are made of same basic ingredient - rice flour
You add roasted gram flour/besan to Chakli and
You add roasted urad dal powder to Murukku
Rest all ingredients are optional.They only add layers of flavour to the snack recipe.

Steps

Step 1:
Making beetroot purée:
Heat a tbsp oil and roast a peeled beetroot, a tomato and 2garlic cloves until lightly charred and cooked al dente.
Let it cool, then make a smooth purée. - 2
Step 2:
Mix the flours and soda well.Add oil and mix till it becomes crumbly.Add beetroot purée and all flavouring ingredients(as per your wish) - 3
Step 3:
Mix everything well.Gradually add water and make a smooth,firm and pliable dough.Dough should hold and not break.

Step 4:
Insert the dough in a chakli maker and make spiral shaped challis on the back of a plate - 5
Step 5:
Heat the oil and deep fry the chakli at low-medium flame
