Kachnaar Qeema

Kachnaar is a very short time seasonal vegetable which is actually a bud of an Orchid plant. We made it already twice before but I was unable to capture some of the steps. So yesterday one last time we made it, as it’s just about to end now..
Tastes very well with meat.

Heat oil and sauté onions till they turn light brown. Then add the ginger garlic paste and mince and mix well. Cook till the mince changes colour.

Add water and let it cook for 5 mins. Then add the chopped tomatoes and all the spices and mix well.

Now cook for 15 mins. Then add the yogurt and kachnaar and mix well. Cook again for 15-20 mins. The oil shows up and we are done.

Serve with fresh roti and yogurt and enjoy.
